Are you willing to submit curriculum? Do you enjoy using the content others
supply?
Cash-strapped churches and budgets often leave little room for finding
high-quality curriculum. Even more so, curriculum with the right price
often costs much more in lost Disciples identity. This site's purpose is
to make it easier for Disciples (and the wider church) to
connect and share together. At the center of this site's identity is
one of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)'s virtues we can share with
the wider church: the curriculum embraces the Disciple belief in Liberty and
Responsiblity of individuals to develop their own understanding of God and the
world.
Material across the theological spectrum can be found on this site, however
please refer to the previous statement (i.e. no matter the perspective, we
encourage ideas that ask youth and adults to think seriously about their faith
without simply telling them an answer).
Material submitted to this site is open-source...meaning that it is freely
submitted without the expectation of financial compensation....with the hope
that with the sharing of our gifts and talents, we strive to strengthen the
larger body of Christ. It is also meant to be original and submitted by
the creator -- in other words, don't send in the best stuff you bought last
month (we don't need to struggle through that)!
While most of the material at the start of this project is predominantly
from one geographic area (Upper Midwest), everyone, from every
background, is welcome and encouraged to submit ideas and articles.
Users will only get out of this site what is submitted. Therefore, if 98%
of the people that use it are downloading material, but not submitting, our
collection of ideas will be small. So please, SHARE This
resource is for YOU.
TO SUBMIT:
Send your curriculum to Adam Frieberg (adam.frieberg@gmail.com),
Bill Spangler-Dunning (bsd@uppermidwestcc.org)
or Michael Davison (michael@ccinky.net).
If you have material for categories other than those in the system, send them
and the material.
At the very least, your curriculum should include both the material and a
description. Elements that make great curriculum are purpose statements
(what's the goal?), supplies needed, a basic outline, helpful hints and any
other things to make teaching easier.
When you submit, if you're a new author in the system, please also include your
profile. Want to make a great profile for yourself? Watch the Daily Show
with Jon Stewart and write immediately following. No, in all
seriousness, try to include the following: your name, location, congregation
you're currently involved with, what you enjoy doing in your free time, ways to
reach you (e-mail, IM, website), and your answer to "What do you feel is most
challenging to Disciples today?"
